Dallas has grown, and the responsibilities placed upon its police officers, firefighters, 911 professionals, emergency managers, and other public safety personnel have grown with it. Yet some of the facilities and infrastructure supporting those missions have not kept pace with the city they now serve.

Proposition A asks Dallas voters to authorize $443 million in general obligation bonds for public safety improvements and facilities. The proposed investment addresses five areas of public safety infrastructure: law enforcement training, specialized public safety training, police evidence and property operations, 911 and emergency operations, and the replacement of Fire Station No. 4.

These projects address different needs, but they share a common purpose: providing Dallas public safety professionals with infrastructure capable of supporting the responsibilities the city asks them to perform.

This petition provides Dallas residents, business owners, community leaders, and others who support that investment an opportunity to make their voices heard.

I support Dallas Proposition A and the investment in public safety infrastructure it represents.

I believe a growing city has a responsibility to provide its public safety professionals with appropriate facilities, training environments, communications capabilities, evidence-management infrastructure, and emergency-response resources necessary to serve the community effectively.

I recognize that Proposition A represents a significant public investment and that such an investment should be accompanied by responsible planning, fiscal oversight, transparency, and accountability.

After considering both the cost of the proposed improvements and the risks and continuing costs associated with inadequate or outdated infrastructure, I support Proposition A and encourage Dallas voters to support it on November 3, 2026.

Dallas has grown. The mission has grown. Our public safety infrastructure must be prepared to meet the needs of the Dallas we have become and the Dallas we are building for tomorrow.
